In this fourth talk in the series, I focus on the 1990s. Following the characteristic self-deprecation of the 1980s, a younger generation of women were emerging to question assumptions of Second Wave feminism. They were also injecting a newer, brasher form of humour which is reflected in the cartoons. The signature was celebratory which I interpret as carnivalesque. I look at where such works were appearing and how they were being produced. I offer my interpretations in this illustrated presentation which was recorded live on Zoom 20/08/2020 The series is based on my book: UK Feminist Cartoons and Comics UK: A Critical Survey.
