Republic Services: Awesome Heil DuraPack 7000 Garbage Truck ft. David Bunnie!

Today I present to you guys a truck I find extremely special, and likely the last of its kind currently running in the DFW area! Republic used to have a handful of these Heil 7000s across Texas entirely, but over the last few years they’ve become practically obsolete. Seen here is the last one from the Hutchins (South Dallas) yard, collecting late afternoon trash in a massive HOA called Travis Ranch. And to top it off, you got YT veteran David Bunnie (Solid Waste Entertainment) behind the wheel! Trash is usually pretty heavy week by week in this subdivision, so the only disadvantage to this truck is that the auto-pack function doesn’t work. David had to manually pack pretty often, which coming from an older Mack MRU, sounds great! Another touch to this unit is that it sports the “Sustainability in Action” wrap on the side. Many of the Republic yards up here added that to just front and side loaders specifically, and only existing instead of the brand new trucks. Not really sure why, but it’s ironic considering this truck certainly puts some coal out haha.
