After owning & using the Chrome OS edition of the K580 keyboard for about two years now, I decided to take some time to review this keyboard and assess whether this keyboard is worth it in 2021. If you want to pick up a Logitech K580 (regular links; not affiliate): Best Buy (US): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitech... Amazon (US): https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Multi... Note: Audio kept cutting out when shooting this video so apologies if the audio sounds off or if things come off clunkier than usual. I had to do a LOT of retakes due to tech difficulties. --------------------------------------------------- If you're interested in the other Chrome OS keyboards mentioned in this video, check out these videos from Chrome Unboxed. Review of the Dell Wireless Chrome OS Keyboard: • Dell Made a Great Wireless Keyboard Just F... --------------------------------------------------- Corrections/Clarifications: Correction #1 - Around the 2 minute mark, I state that the K580 keyboard only comes in the black & light gray color design. This wasn't entirely wrong since the Chrome OS edition of the K580 does only seem to come in only one color design. The standard/regular version of the K580 does, however, have an alternative color design of white & light gray. Something that I didn't realize was the case until after posting this video. Clarification #1 - I realize that I glossed over the connectivity aspect of the keyboard. In my experience, I haven't had any issues connecting the keyboard to any of the devices that I own. I also haven't experienced any issues switching my connection through the use of the "Easy Switch" buttons. Clarification #2 - Upon rewatching the video, I realize that my conclusion of the K580 keyboard being the one that future Chrome OS keyboards to beat can be a bit confusing. To be clear, I'm obviously not suggesting that the keyboard is suddenly perfect or flawless. I am, however, suggesting that, even with its flaws, the K580 has enough positive qualities to establish a kind of standard. A standard that future wireless Chrome OS keyboards should be expected to meet/beat to be seen as a good product. --------------------------------------------------- Video Index: 0:00 - Intro 0:53 - Disclaimer 1:38 - Thoughts On The K580's Design 2:21 - Looking At The Bottom Of The K580 2:48 - The K580's Build Quality And Texture 3:44 - The K580's Light Gray Cover & Its Flaws 6:00 - The Phone Stand/Cradle 6:12 - Can You Fit A Tablet In The K580's Phone Stand 6:29 - The Keys On The K580 7:26 - A Sample Of The Keyboard Noise 8:09 - No Backlit Keys Or RGB 8:17 - Going Over The Easy Switch Keys 8:54 - Is The K580 Keyboard Portable? 9:24 - Battery Life On The K580 10:00 - Focusing In On The Chrome OS Edition Labelling 10:30 - Normal Keyboards VS Chromebook Keyboards? 11:15 - How Chrome OS-ified Is The Keyboard? 11:41- Can You Use The Chrome OS Edition With Non-Chromebooks 12:17 - If Those Reviews Were A Character 12:39 - Why I Appreciate The Chrome OS Edition Of The K580 Keyboard 14:23 - How Much Does The K580 Cost? 15:01 - Comparing The K580 To Other Chrome OS Keyboards 17:08 - Is The K580 Chrome OS Edition Worth It In 2021? 17:57 - Final Thoughts On The K580 Chrome OS Edition 18:17 - Like And Subscribe? --------------------------------------------------- Follow Octillionth Tech On Twitter: / octillionthtech
