We have often covered the topic of intumescent white cataracts and creating a stable capsulorhexis without run-out or the dreaded Argentinian flag sign. One of the best techniques is to do the double capsulorhexis technique where an initial, small capsulorhexis is created to allow safe decompression of the capsular bag and aspiration of liquefied lens cortex. This is followed by a second, larger, final capsulorhexis which is about 5 mm in diameter.
