Fugitive Mehul Choksi’s Extradition Proceedings To Begin In Belgian Court Next Week | News9

In a major development in the ₹13,000 crore PNB bank fraud case, extradition proceedings against fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi are set to begin in a Belgian court next Monday. Choksi, who moved to Belgium from Antigua last year citing medical reasons, was arrested in April after India’s extradition request under the 2020 India-Belgium treaty. The CBI, with support from the Ministry of External Affairs, has submitted a detailed dossier including FIRs, chargesheets, and key evidence to establish dual criminality, crucial for extradition.
