Why did Satan fall? Most of us know that Satan was an angel before He fell • But why did he fall? Isaiah 14:12-15 Satan wanted to be like God. Satan wanted to be worshiped! • Everything he wanted had to do with being lifted up and exalted We are born with a Satanic not Adamic nature • Who is the first person you look for in a group picture? • Satan turns every conversation to himself Jesus turned every conversation to the Father • Miracles: I don’t do anything unless I first see the Father do it • Teaching: I don’t say anything unless I first hear the Father say it Satan has always wanted to be worshipped! • We not only have the first of the book, we have the end of the book Revelation 13:4 They were singing a song about Satan that is about God! (Ex. 15) • Satan’s plan has been, is, and always will be to be worshipped! • Satan is always trying to get us to worship something or someone Worship is the only thing that was going on before the world was created, • Is going on right now, and will go on for all eternity! Matthew 4:8-9 Satan wanted Jesus to worship him! • Notice he wanted him to fall down and worship • He wanted him to express it! Worship is love and true love is ALWAYS expressed • Even the most expressionless guy will express his love! • I brushed my teeth and heard my friend talking to his wife 2. Who created instruments? Isaiah 14:11 Satan did not create instruments! Satan is a created being! Isaiah 14:4 This was a prophecy given to the king of Babylon. Jesus said to Peter, “Get thee behind me Satan!” • Here is another prophecy given to a man but is speaking of Satan Ezekiel 28:16 Satan was cast out because of his trading (merchandising) • Like if I owned a suit store and an employee kept some money • He wanted the worship for himself! (Cosmic violation!) Ezekiel 28:13 “The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.” Lucifer was created by God with timbrels and pipes! • Combine this with Is. 14: strings, percussion, and wind instruments! • Satan’s greatest desire is to be worshipped There are 3 arch (ruling) angels named in the Bible • Gabriel rules over the word • Michael rules over prayer • Lucifer ruled over worship Instruments are more important to worship than you think 1 Chronicles 13:8 Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets. 1 Chronicles 25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals. 2 Chronicles 5:13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, for His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 2 Chronicles 5:14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God. God’s presence fills the house when we worship with instruments! • There was a guy that came forward after worship to be saved • God’s presence was so strong during worship he couldn’t wait! 3. What did God do? What did God do after His worship leader fell from heaven? • He created another worship leader with instruments! • You have all 3 types of instruments in your body! Satan asked God, “Who’s going to give you praise now?” • God said, “Let there be light and beauty • And let the earth be productive!” God grabbed a handful of dirt, breathed into it and said, • “That is my new worship leader!” • “And furthermore, that is going to crush your head!” You’ve been created in the image of God • Why not use your instruments to praise Him? • And watch the glory of the Lord fill your house!
