Brain tumor research is the source of hope for cures for this form of cancer. Learn more about how basic (discovery) science research moves from the bench to the bedside, ways you can be involved in the latest brain tumor studies, and how best to debunk clinical trial myths. This half-day informative meeting will cover: • What laboratory/translational research is, why it's important for brain tumor patients, and how this research is conducted and funded. • The latest types of therapies being developed and what barriers must be overcome before they can be used in patients. • What constitutes a clinical trial, why they're an essential part of care, and hear patients share their experiences participating in a clinical trial. • Current challenges that impact the development of cures for brain tumors, including funding and costs, regulatory and ethical considerations, recruitment and more. This meeting is Chaired and moderated by Michael A. Vogelbaum MD, PhD, Moffitt Cancer Center. Looking for more resources related to this topic?
