Samantha Carter is a Mi'kmaw woman from Potlotek First Nation, she is the first in her community with her background. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from STFX and Bachelor of Health Science in Radiological Technology from Dalhousie University. In 2017, Samantha began her journey at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital where she stayed until this past October working as a Radiological Technologist. Currently, Samantha works at the Strait Richmond Hospital, which is in her home county. As Samantha continues her journey in the Health Science field, she hopes to see more Mi'kmaw people step into the STEAM field careers and encourages youth to explore the possibilities on their educational journey. ABOUT: L'nu in STEM is an inspirational series created by Digital Mi'kmaq to highlight the incredible Indigenous People in STEAM careers in Atlantic Canada to inspire the next generation of Indigenous Youth into fields of science.
