Hello :) This is the requested transcription I've done of the J.J. Cale song "After Midnight". This song was released as a single in 1966. I'm not sure who the bass player on this was. The following guys are listed for bass credits - Tim Drummond, Carl Radle, Norbert Putnam. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know and I'll update this description. You can find this transcription at Muzento when you sign up with an Advanced Lesson Plan. The chromatic lick in this song is tricky to play. It's a finger fumbler...hehe. I tried 3 different fingerings. 1. Finger 1 and 2 in groups of two starting from the F. (sounds good for a short time, but too much moving to do for the whole song). 2. Using finger 1 for the F and F# and then using 4 fingers up to the A. (Didn't quite feel right for me) 3. Shifting on the G# and slurring into the A with finger 3 and 4. (This one felt the best) I ended up using the 3rd fingering. It seemed the easiest and with the least amount of movement. I had to concentrate on waiting for beat 3 before starting the lick and making sure I used my 2nd for the F#. Again, it's a tricky lick to play the same way every time. Good luck and I hope you enjoy it :) Don't forget to "like" and "subscribe" and thanks for watching. -------------- If you appreciate what I do and or find it helpful, I hope you might consider supporting me through the following: GregsTranscripts - https://www.gregstranscripts.com/ Muzento - https://www.muzento.com Patreon - / gregfairweather or you can make a donation through PayPal at - http://bit.do/Much-appreciated ------------------- Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
