This video shows how a total kne arthroplasty is performed with the assistance of the Rosa Robot (Zimmer Biomet). Here, we perform a left TKA. The patient has already had the right knee replaced using the same technique. This video illustrates how the TKA is performed with robotic assistance. The robot allows us to create an intra-operative 3D model of the knee that maps the patient's individual anatomy in real time during surgery. This allows us to plan implant positioning with extreme accuracy and adjust on the fly based on soft tissue tension, boney geometry, and the unique wear pattern created by arthritis, minimizing the risk of over-resection or imbalance. This precision directly impacts probably the most critical variable in knee replacement success: implant alignment and soft tissue balance. Even small deviations in alignment can accelerate implant wear or lead to poor functional results following surgery because the implant wasn’t placed in a position to re-create your natural anatomy.
