Various of Van Praagh and Tsao leaving stage STORYLINE: Security leaders and experts from around the world gathered in Taiwan on Thursday as an international security forum got underway. For the first time since its creation in 2009, The Halifax International Security Forum was being held outside of Canada with Taipei City chosen to host this year's two-day event. The forum is set to bring together leaders and experts from around the world to discuss global security and technological competition. The forum's president, Peter Van Praagh, said many issues were due to be discussed including the conflict in Ukraine. Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim as well as former President Tsai Ing-we and Secretary-General of the National Security Council Joseph Wu are set to give addresses over the next two days.
