In "stroke", there are two new attributes called "taper" and "wave". We use these to first of all create and animate a splatter, then a whole splash. Then we add a little ring of smoke to that liquid splash animation. It already looks a lot like cell animation, but to get even closer we add an adjustment layer and posterize time to a framerate of 12 frames per second.
