Norie Huddle introduced her longtime friend, Yumi Kikuchi, who shared her life journey and her work as a peace activist, environmentalist, and health coach. After quitting her banking job, Yumi pursued environmental initiatives, including raising the money to create a tropical rainforest sanctuary in Belize and organizing international beach cleanups in Japan. She described her activism during and after the 9/11 attacks, including raising funds for peace advertisements and translating Frank Dorrell's comic book, Addicted to War, into Japanese. She published Norie's book, Butterfly, in Japanese, with new artwork and short "story-essays" by her and Norie, and organized a series of events with Norie all over Japan, networking activists looking for a new way to do their activism. Yumi and her family moved to Hawaii after the Fukushima disaster where she and her husband now teach traditional Japanese medicine and coherence practices. The conversation ended with a discussion about the current state of peace movements and the potential for positive change.
