Setup & playing of the finished electric guitar This ELEVENTH video shows the choices of pickups and the mid-boost board from Fender that I purchased and some of the reasons exactly why I chose this specific combination of electrics for this Strat. Of course you can change them for others but I do have very valid reasons and maybe some you had not considered yourself. The pickups are Fender's custom shop 69 pickups and there are important aspects of these pickups that become important as we proceed. For example, you will see that all three pickups are exactly the same for measurements, but also all three have increased treble and bass compared to mid outputs. This led me to the second choice of electronics for this guitar, the Fender Clapton 'Mid Boost' board. What is important is that the Fender 69 Custom Shop pickups have a reduced mid, I am able to leave the mid as designed with the mid boost at minimum, but also to increase and importantly 'control' the mid range output with the boost board. Perfect for most lead guitar stuff if you have an emphasis on mid range - but also great if you prefer lower mid range too! I also show how to minimize the hum or interference you might get by using and installing double sided copper tape for minimizing the RF and other spurious signals that could get to the amp from the guitar. Then I test the electronics and show how I did all of that. Mine works but did yours? In Part 12 we end the series by showing a quick setup of the guitar and then example playing and tones. Check for yourself whether the mid control makes this guitar particularly great for most styles of music. This video series has been completely funded by me, written and developed from scratch also and is not sponsored in any way. I purchased everything for the guitar. I trust that this series of videos inspires you too to have a go at creating a guitar yourself. I have spent considerable time creating these video series at my expense: PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, RING THE BELL, AND THUMBS UP to give my channel a boost and thank you for watching - I hope the series is enjoyable.
