Mary Wilson was an American singer, best known as a founding member of the legendary Motown group The Supremes. Formed in the early 1960s, The Supremes became one of the most successful female vocal groups in music history, scoring numerous No. 1 hits including “Where Did Our Love Go,” “Baby Love,” and “Stop! In the Name of Love.” Wilson remained with the group from its beginnings as The Primettes until its final days in the 1970s, providing a consistent presence through its many lineup changes. Beyond her career with The Supremes, Wilson was a solo artist, author, and passionate advocate for artists’ rights. Her memoir, Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme, became a bestseller and offered an insider’s view of the rise of Motown. She also played a key role in preserving the legacy of The Supremes and promoting recognition for the contributions of Black artists in American music history. Mary Wilson passed away in 2021, but her legacy as a trailblazing artist and cultural icon continues to resonate. Watch more TMF videos ► https://bit.ly/MoreTMF Join us.
