Cutting rooms and film sets were also creative hives for passing on techniques, ideas, war stories and developing relationships that would help grow a career. Trainee would move to apprentice, apprentice to assistant, and eventually through hard work and guidance, the learner would eventually become the master. Seasoned career veterans delighted in sharing the knowledge, techniques, tricks, and ideas, they had learned over the years. With the increased speed of digital cinema and rapid pace of today’s industry, young film professionals are often thrust into situations without having the opportunity to meet a mentor, or the time spend as a protege. Filmmaker U was created to help fill this void in the modern day film industry. We bring the best in the business to any aspiring media artist looking for a meaningful and truly enriching apprentice experience.
