In this video we take you into Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to hike the Rose River Falls Trail, also known as the Rose River Loop Trail. It’s a beautiful, 3.5-mile loop hike nestled deep in Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shenandoah National Park, VA, is located roughly 75 miles west of Washington, DC, and this particular hike can be found at mile marker 49 along Skyline Drive. This was my first hiking experience at Shenandoah National Park, and the Rose River Falls Loop Trail did not disappoint. When we arrived in Virginia, I joined a Shenandoah National Park Facebook group and asked for a list of the best hiking trails in the park. Multiple people recommended hiking the Rose River Loop Trail, so I decided to make this my first hike in the park. The 3.5-mile loop runs along a beautiful river scattered with stunning waterfalls. I did the hike in mid December, so many of the leaves had fallen, which revealed unique views deep into the woods. Shenandoah National Park is bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. There is so much to explore in this park, and we can't wait to get out and enjoy more of the beautiful scenery!
