Bürgerwiese Marsberg (English Version)

Our project aimed to redesign the Diemelaue area next to the swimming pool in Marsberg to meet the needs of people of all ages. At a time when outdoor pools, cinemas, and playgrounds were closed, we sought to create a nature-oriented meeting place that would revitalize leisure opportunities in our town. Bürgerhilfe Marsberg e.V. supported this initiative to unite the needs and interests of various age groups in our community. Our planned measures included: Climbing Course: A diverse climbing course was created to offer adventure for all ages, promoting physical activity and teamwork. Water Playground: A water playground was installed, providing refreshment for both children and adults on hot days while fostering an understanding of sustainable water use. Relaxation Areas: Cozy relaxation zones with seating and shade-providing trees invited visitors to unwind and relax. Beach Volleyball Court: A beach volleyball court offered athletic fun and opportunities for social interaction. Fitness Equipment: Publicly accessible fitness equipment was set up to promote the physical health and mobility of residents. Through these diverse offerings, we aimed not only to expand leisure options in Marsberg but also to strengthen the community. Our project was designed to foster the integration of different age groups, enhance social cohesion, and improve the health and fitness of residents. As the project sponsor, we committed ourselves to creating a space where people of all ages feel welcome and can spend time together in nature. We were delighted by the community’s support and proud that the Diemelaue has now become a vibrant, nature-oriented meeting place for the citizens of Marsberg.
