Fossil Hunting after cliff collapse on the Suffolk Coast. After some strong winds and heavy tides we’ve lost about 5 meters of cliff on my favorite beach on the Suffolk coast. Covehithe (which is close to Southwold) is one of my favorite beaches and every now and then a marvel appears from a long time ago. This can be amber, fossilized bone or fossils or even (if you’re lucky) a hoard of Roman gold coins. I’ve found all sorts along here from Mammoth teeth, fossilized deer antlers, sea urchins and even a flint axe head.
