Arïanna: Love without Borders a World Opera Lab and Podium Mozaïek production Arïanna is a remake of a lost opera, with singers and musicians with roots from all over the world. The opera is based on the myth of Princess Arianna, a myth born at the crossroads of cultures of East and West. The story of Arïanna is centuries old, but everyone knows the emotions: from loneliness to love and connection. The original opera, created by Claudio Monteverdi, has been lost. Only the libretto and one beautiful aria 'Lamento D'Arianne' still exist. In this remake we combine traditional music from all over the world and new compositions. The ensemble consists of a special mix of instruments: from organ to ud and from violin to African percussion. Immersing the audience in a dazzling and colorful spectacle full of symbolism, dance, projection and beautiful melodies. This super-diverse opera, created by directed by director Miranda Lakerveld, transcends cultural differences and questions social issues in a poetic way.
