Wetland Farming at the Horsey Estate | Paludiculture in the Broads National Park

Here in the Broads we are exploring the potential of wetland crops for improving water quality and producing sustainable building materials. Through innovative cropping techniques, such as paludiculture, we aim to develop crops that thrive in waterlogged conditions while simultaneously restoring peatland ecosystems. These crops not only help absorb excess nutrients from the water but can also be processed into sustainable products for the construction industry, offering an alternative to traditional materials. This film showing the Horsey Estate highlights the journey of exploring these novel crops, showcasing the environmental and potential economic benefits of wetland agriculture in the Broads.
