All proceeds from the event benefit CASA/LA. CASA is a national 501c3 with local branches throughout the country. CASA brings the voice of a concerned community into the child welfare system, utilizing community volunteers to advocate for youth in the courtroom, school system, housing system and more. Studies have shown that children with CASAs receive more assistance and support than children without, and are more likely to be adopted or returned to their families and less likely to reenter the child welfare system. Often CASAs deal with the most difficult cases in the foster system, helping children who have suffered from abuse or have medical or psychological issues.
