So I did. John Rossetti was one of fifteen people who took part in the BBC's 'Living in the Past' experiment in 1977/8. They lived in iron age conditions for thirteen months, and showed remarkable dedication to the project. They even, without being required to, ploughed the fields again at the end of the project, just to show that they were able to keep the pattern of agricultural life going. They grew their own food, made their own clothes, kept about 100 mammals and a bee hive, and did without modern soaps, entertainments, and safety equipment. Most of the time, the volunteer villagers just got on with it. Typically, the film crew would show up twice a week. I talked to John for one hour and three minutes. This is the first of a series of videos of that interview.
