Tonights paper was written by C. Gordon Bell, VP of engineering a digital equipment corporation. Published five years after the introduction of DEC’s PDP-11 series, of which Bell was one of the designers, the 1975 paper “What have we learnt from the PDP-11” sought to reflect on the success of the PDP-11 and evaluate it against the original design goals that Bell and his co designers laid down in 1969. Dave's Bio Our speaker to night has travelled here all the way from Australia. David is a software engineer from Sydney. He currently works for Heptio, building tools to improve the Kubernetes experience for everyone. David spends most of his free time contributing to the Go language project by writing, speaking at, and organizing Go related events.
