"Miss the Mississippi and You" Rambling Steve Gardner

It's a rainy spring day here and my thoughts have turned toward home. This is my take on the old tune, "MISS THE MISSISSIPPI AND YOU." The original was written by Bill Halley and first recorded by Jimmie Rogers in 1932. I have based my take on the original but from here I have always felt that a good song is like a the river its self: it is always deeper than you think, changing, running fast with whirl pools or long stretches of back water where sternwheelers churn past sandbars, paddle wheels "smote'n" at the mighty Mississippi like Moses with a 2x4 back when Pharos' army got drowned!
