This project began with a shared appreciation for process and material. Having long admired Benjamin Fenton's work, we approached it through a mutual interest in craft and experimentation. The garments were manufactured in Okayama, Japan using deadstock GORE-TEX fabric. Working with existing material, we sought to extend its life through transformation rather than new production. Each piece was individually hand-dyed in our studio over two days, one at a time, in two colourways — Indigo and Rust. Subtle shifts in tone and surface emerged naturally through the process, ensuring no two garments are identical. Variation and irregularity are inherent, reflecting the human hand behind the work. This marks our first exploration into dyeing GORE-TEX by hand resulting in a study in how technical fabrics can evolve through careful experimentation. After dyeing, each garment was refinished with a renewed DWR treatment to maintain weather resistance and performance integrity and finished with our signature leather zipper pullers. The nature of the process limited production to ten pieces in Indigo and ten in Rust, available online and in-store on March 6th, 10am PT.
