First new Chapter 1 Any% world record in 2 years, thanks to community efforts. I stream sometimes: twitch.tv/stegdarkhorse My previous PB was never saved properly, so it's nice to have one with up to date strats and skill saved. This record was possible thanks in no small part to the community. We've known for years about the Solider Pickup Warp glitch (See my tutorial on that one), but we've never known if it was possible to aim them. We've only been able to leave missions using it, but thanks to a push by ‪@OneCoolMan2008‬, it wound up being solved. ‪@wizardhwk‬ stumbled onto being able to "aim" them by diving out of a cardboard box, while ‪@MetsametsaSpeedruns‬ realized what was going on and figured out the distance of the warps and how the setups work. There is still a lot of potential time to save here. A 1:51:XX is very doable with a cleaner run. I'm not sure if a 1:50:XX is possible though I thought it was initially, but anything is possible. I'm just so happy to continue to be part of this game's history and to see our community continue to grow and overcome challenges. I have some other things I want to work on that I put aside to grind for the record. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep going for the 1:51:XX or if I'll put it to the side for now.
