While Bryan Herta wasn't a major factor in the #7, Dario Franchitti in the #27 would score his first 2 wins outside of CART, while sophomore driver Dan Wheldon in the #26 would score his first 3 wins that year. Rahal Letterman Racing's Buddy Rice would score the team's first 3 wins, including that year's Indianapolis 500. However, the dominator that year was Andretti Green's Tony Kanaan in the #11, as he won 3 races and became the only driver ever in IndyCar to finish every lap of the season en route to clinching the 2004 championship.
