Take an extremely easy ATV ride through Utah History on the Central Pacific Rail Trail that runs north and west of the Great Salt Lake in Box Elder County. HISTORY OF TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD TRAIL: The railroad was built in 1868 and was laid until about 1904 when the railroad changed and went out of Ogden. At that time, the part of the railroad was abandoned and eventually pulled up making the offroad trail you can ride on today. There are hundreds of miles of trails around this area as well giving you access to some of the remote shores of the Great Salt Lake.
