E22 is seen flying in from across the street squeeing with a fish in both talons! Great job E22!! Most likely, E22 got the fish from Dad and brought back to the nest. E22 was not hungry judging by the size of its crop so it left the fish uneaten & perched on the porch. M15 comes in and lands on the nest thinking E22 does not want the fish but E22 drops to the nest & squees and mantles it so M15 goes to the spike and then attic. E22 leaves the fish again and goes to the porch and M15 drops down to the nest to eat it but E22 returns to the nest and mantles & squees and protects its fish. M15 goes to the spike but as soon as E22 walks away from the fish, M drops back to the nest to get it. E22 mantles and warns Dad away, E22 goes to the porch again leaving the fish and M15 drops down to the nest for the 4th time. E22 goes to the nest and protects the fish and warns M15 away - M15 heads to the inner limb to wait. Sure enough, E22 leaves the fish again & goes to the porch and M15 sees the opportunity for a steal, flies to the nest, grabs the fish and flies off with it to the office oak. E22 comes back to the nest too late. These are all important lessons for E22 to learn in protecting your food and never leaving it alone as it will be taken from you. E22 did a good job mantling and protecting the fish from Dad for the first four attempts but loses it on the fifth. M15 must have been really hungry and it was good for him to have a nice meal.
