This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. http://tedxcairo.com / tedxcairo / tedxcairo Dr. Osman is one of the Pioneers of Statistics and national information in Egypt. He has a number of publications in public opinion research, statistics, demography and governance. He led a number of national surveys activities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Emirates including the Egyptian World Values Survey and the National Corruption Perception Survey. Furthermore, he designed and supervised a large number of public opinion polls since 2005. Recently he was responsible for a series of polls on Egyptian presidential elections initiated the first series of president approval rating in Egypt and conducted the first exit-poll in Egypt Statistics and Public Opinion Research Expert, Founder and Managing Director of the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research "Baseera" Dr. Magued is the former Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt from February to July 2011 in the caretaker government. Before being appointed as a minister, Dr. Osman was the Chairman of the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers' Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). Dr. Magued is a Professor, at the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.
