The Rocksmith 60 day challenge is an incredible way for beginner guitarists to approach learning guitar. The commitment of a challenge is extremely helpful in maintaining motivation when you're still unfamiliar with the instrument, because it's so SLOW AND FRUSTRATING. However, the main rocksmith function, guitar hero with a real guitar, can become very repetitive after spending hours with the game. This is where my favourite function in rocksmith comes in, GUITARCADE. Specifically, technique games! I think that technique games are a brilliant way to become acquainted with, and practice, beginner to intermediate guitar techniques that are essential to fast progress as a guitarist. Borrowing from yousician's recipe, rocksmith's technique games are an extremely addictive way to practice guitar techniques in a way that genuinely feels like a game... for the most part. In this video I discuss the various technique games offered in Rocksmith, including: Castle Chordhead, Scale Warriors, Temple of bends, Scale Racer, and more! (all of them actually). And I ordered them from my favourite to least favourite based on how fun they are, and usefulness in practicing their respective guitar techniques. I'm almost done the Rocksmith 60 day challenge, and these guitar games have been a saving grace.
