사단법인 한국모델협회는 모델의 건전한 발전, 권익 향상, 그리고 관련산업의 결속과 지속적인 발전을 도모하고자 1976년에 발족하였습니다. 이러한 목적을 달성하고자 기울여온 그간의 꾸준한 노력은 최근에 풍성한 결실을 맺고 있습니다. 우선 모델협회의 주인이 되는 모델들의 권익을 위하여 고문변호사와 자문변호사로 구성된 민원센터를 운영하고 있습니다. 초상권, 저작권을 비롯하여 계약에서의 다양한 형태의 분쟁에 전문적으로 대처하여 모델의 권익을 보호하고 모델본연의 활동에 전념할 수 있도록 전문적인 자문과 상담을 지속적으로 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 사회구성원으로서 모델의 역할을 공고히 하고 모델에 대한 인식을 재고하고자 지속적인 사회봉사에 앞장서고 있습니다. 슈퍼모델, 레이싱모델을 중심으로 자선패션쇼와 바자회를 주기적으로 개최하고 있으며 사랑의 손길을 통해 소아 백혈병 어린이를 선정하여 지속적인 후원하는 등, 사회에 환원 할 수 있는 각종 민간사회활동을 펼쳐 몸으로 봉사하는 숭고한 이념을 실현하고 있습니다. 그리고 아름다움과 감성, 국제화가 중심이 되는 새로운 시대를 맞아 국제적인 모델교류의 활성화와 뷰티산업의 연계를 통한 새로운 가치 창출을 위해 전력을 다하고 있습니다. 이를 위하여 아시아모델관련 최대의 행사인 아시아모델상시상식, 몽골, 중국 모델대회 등을 주최하고 있으며 이외에도 다양한 국제모델대회를 후원하고 있습니다. 또한 모델에 대한 학문적 기반을 구축하여 체계적인 연구가 이루어지도록 지원하고 있으며 중국 대련국제모델예술학교, 길리대학, 몽골모델단체 등과 MOU를 체결하고 모델연수 및 유학을 위한 협력관계를 구축 현재 유학생을 통한 모델 교육이 이루어지고 있습니다. 최고의 SKT와 모델어플리케이션를 개발하여 모델폰을 출시하였고 하나SK카드와 함께 모델카드를 런칭하는 등 최신 유비쿼터스 시대에 걸맞게 하이테크과 아름다움이 융합하는 새로운 개념과 산업을 창출하고 있습니다. 우리 사단법인 한국모델협회는 지금까지의 노력이 앞으로도 더욱 풍성한 열매를 맺고 모델산업이 더욱 풍성한 뷰티산업의 중심이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것이며 아시아모델의 메카로서 아시아모델상시상식을 비롯하여 우리에게 주어지는 중심적인 역할을 온전히 수행할 수 있도록 모든 노력을 기울일 것입니다. Korea Model Association (KMA) was established as an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to promote models' health, protect and improve models' rights and interests. It was also established to promote the unity and development among model related enterprises. In order to achieve these objectives, a lot of effort has been inputted in the recent years. In behalf of the models' interests and their well-being, an assistant center consisting of a legal advisor and corporation lawyer is being operated. We help to solve models' difficulties and problems under the aim and the duty by protecting their rights, interests, and copyrights. In addition, we seek to promote and strengthen the role of models in society through ongoing community service and social activities. Supermodel and racing model based charity functions and events, such as fashion shows and bazaars have been held periodically, in support of children diagnosed with leukemia. Such events are a few of the many activities that we engage in, for the betterment of our society. Our association actively takes part in hosting and sponsoring the annual 'Asian Model Awards,' as well as the 'China Model Contest,' and many more prestigious modeling competitions held within Asia. Moreover, we support researches and academic foundations, to ensure an ongoing systematic study on modeling. In the past, we have funded China Dalian International Model Art School, University of Gilead, and have signed MOU with many other groups in order to promote the training and cooperation of modeling education abroad. Recently we have collaborated with 'SKT' to launch model phone applications and with 'Hana SK Card'' to initiate model cards, and still persist in expanding our partnerships for the future. We will continue to do our best and to lead the development of the Korean modeling industry and to become the most crucial contributor in today's global modeling industry.
