The forest wagtail is characterized by its distinctive plumage and long tail. It has olive-brown upperparts with a prominent white eyebrow and a black stripe through the eye. As the name suggests, the forest wagtail is typically found in forested habitats, including deciduous and evergreen forests, as well as wooded areas near water bodies such as streams and rivers. It can also be found in parks and gardens with suitable vegetation. Unlike other wagtails, this wagtail swings its tail from one side to other side. When it's gets disturbed, it sits on top of trees. Forest wagtails are migratory birds, with populations from northern parts of their range migrating south for the winter.
