Upgrading Your Hpe 3par 8440 Controller: Which Nodes Should You Swap Out?

Resolution Steps: 1. Work with your engineer while onsite to replace the Node and rejoin the cluster 2. Ensure the Node cables are labeled 3. Connect USB serial adapter to the Straight Thru Ethernet cable (may be Blue or other colors) with grey serial adapter 180-0055 (from 3Par cable kit 647980-001) plugged into MFG port of the Node to be replaced. Serial connection settings are: 57600, 8, none, 1, Xon/Xoff 4. Remove the Node by pulling on the grey handle and releasing the remove/replace rod 5. Move over the optional pci card if found in original node. Your backline engineer will determine if the boot disk is to be moved over as well. 6. Leave replacement node grey rod extended and reinsert node until it stops. Reconnect all cables and insert node using the extension rod. 7. Backline engineer will configure and confirm node has joined the cluster
