'Das Husumer Orgelbuch von 1758' is a wonderful collection with pieces from mostly the late North-German baroque period. It consists of free works from Druckenmüller, Zeyhold, Zinck and Bruhns (only a small Adagio). A big part of the collection is written by unknown composers, the famous mr. Anonymus. As is this fine Concerto in g-moll presented here. What makes this collection interesting is that you can hear how the North-German baroque repertoire has developed after it's main composers like Scheideman and Buxtehude. It loses a bit of the typical 'Stylus Phantasticus', it gains more influences from Italian baroque and it looks forward to the style galante. I took some (read: many) freedoms in the second part. Without it, the piece didn't come to life for me. So I hope mr. Anonymus can live with it, if he wants to make himself known... :) 00:00 I. Allegro 01:29 II. Affettuoso 02:56 III. Allegro.
