Lake Skadar - discover a true miracle of nature! It is the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula, located on the border of Montenegro and Albania. The rivers flowing into it create meandering branches, between which there are spectacular wetlands. Lake Skadar is included in the so-called disappearing attractions of Montenegro, because in summer the water surface decreases from 600 km² to even 350 km². An interesting fact is that this water paradise is a refuge for almost half of all migratory birds found in Europe, and is also home to numerous species of fish, including carp, which are said to weigh up to 40 kg. Due to its unique character, the lake area was protected and in 1983 the Lake Skadar National Park was established here. It is the largest and youngest of all Montenegrin national parks - it covers 7% of the country's area.
