Considerations behind the ban of e-scooters from Singapore's footpaths

Minister of State for Transport Lam Pin Min explained in Parliament on 4 November 2019 the considerations behind the ban of e-scooters from all footpaths starting 5 November. MOS Lam shared that the number of accidents involving Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs) had been on an upward trend. Acknowledging that the ban would affect food delivery riders, he said that LTA would work with food delivery companies to allow the riders to switch to motorcycles or bicycles.
