Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io. The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes? Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets. Friday Night Dustin' is a reimagining of FNF: DUSTTALE created by the director of the original mod, ChezzarCat, formerly known as WassabiSoja. The story follows the journey for more EXP from a possessed Boyfriend and a crazy Sans, with various mechanics, visual effects and more. The story of the mod starts during the events of FNF's Week 3, with Boyfriend rap battling Pico, however, unbeknownst to him, each time Boyfriend loses, Girlfriend revives him by RESETing. Eventually Pico starts noticing the RESETS as they occour, with him growing furious of Boyfriend attempting to "cheat" by rewinding time each time he loses, trapping both of them in an infinite loop in the process. As the week keeps repeating, Pico slowly grows insane as the RESETs progress, eventually successfully attempting to end the time loop by unexpectedly killing Girlfriend. This leads to him becoming even more insane by the EXP and power granted to him by killing Girlfriend, obtaining the power of RESETing for himself. The sight of this causes Boyfriend to flee in terror as Pico attempts to hunt him down as revenge for the pain he has caused him. Boyfriend eventually runs into Mt. Ebott attempting to hide, jumping into the underground in the process. At the start of the mod, Boyfriend falls into the underground and faints afterwards, getting into a weird nightmare, where lust to avenge Girlfriend fills his heart with Determination. The player (You) now takes control of BF using all his determination and gaining the power of “Perseverance”. After trudging through the unusually empty Ruins, Boyfriend stumbles upon Sans past the Ruins door, who questions the mysterious absence of the Player's usual vessel. Confusing Sans with Pico, Boyfriend immediately begins attacking the confused skeleton, leading to the events of Perserverence. While in Snowdin Town, Papyrus worriedly calls out his missing brother's name, wondering where he might have gone. Boyfriend arrives at the scene and Papyrus notices his presence, asking him if he knows where his brother is and saying that everyone in town has disappeared. Papyrus about to leave the place, realizes the current situation again and decides to capture Boyfriend for being a human, so he accepts the silent rapper's singing game, leading to the events of Kinemorto. Partway through the song, seemingly amused, Papyrus laughs before being hit by a blaster fired by Sans, who mocks the human and tells him to "be faster next time". Papyrus tries to resist death with his head, but ends up giving in and falls down to his own brother.
