What is an edge blister ... and how should you manage them with ENGO Blister Patches? 👉 WHAT YOU'LL NEED: ENGO Blister Patches 4-Pack (4 x Large Ovals) https://www.blister-prevention.com/pr... 👉 LEARN MORE ABOUT ENGO BLISTER PATCHES https://www.blister-prevention.com/en... 0:00 - INTRO Edge blisters are more difficult to manage than most blisters. An edge blister is a blister that's kind of on the bottom of the foot, but it's a little bit on the side too. Edge blisters indicate there's irritation where the side of the shoe meets the innersole. You prevent (and treat) them with ENGO Patches using the two-patch technique. 0:21 - EDGE BLISTER EXAMPLES This is an edge blister, in fact it's my edge blister. See how -- it's on that bottom corner of my foot. This started as an edge blister here. This is wholly and solely under the foot, it's not an edge blister. Nor is this one ... But this one is. This is an edge blister -- it's a little bit on the side and a little bit underneath the big toe. Edge blister. These are edge blisters too. These are not edge blisters on the heels ... But this one is. TYPES OF EDGE BLISTERS ▶ https://www.blister-prevention.com/ed... ▶ https://www.blister-prevention.com/he... ▶ https://www.blister-prevention.com/po... 0:57 - HOW TO PREVENT EDGE BLISTERS So how would you prevent these edge blisters? When you're dealing with edge blisters, if you only patch the insole, you won't stop them. And if you only patch the side of the shoe, you won't stop these blisters either. You need to cover both the vertical and horizontal surfaces. But resist the urge to do this with just one ENGO Patch like this. Why? Well: • Firstly, it's difficult to avoid creases when you use one patch on two perpendicular surfaces. • Secondly, you won't be able to remove the insole without peeling the patch off. • And thirdly, because your insole compresses when you stand on it, the patch will be pulled down, making it lose its adhesiveness on the shoe Instead, use the TWO-PATCH TECHNIQUE. It's the best way to make sure you're covered. 1:41 - ENGO TWO PATCH TECHNIQUE DEMO The way I would prevent this edge blister on the heel would be to use 2 patches like this. It's crease-free, it covers that edge where the insole meets the shoe. And the patches will remain stuck in place for as long as you want them there. ENGO's wonderful blue surface does the rest to keep friction to a minimum and keep you blister-free. Here's how to cover yourself for edge blisters in the arch when you wear an orthotic. One patch goes on the orthotic. And the other on the side of the shoe to give you a smooth, friction-free interface. And here's how to manage edge blisters like mine at the ball of the foot. One patch goes on the insole. These are large oval patches. In fact all the patches I've used in this video are large oval ENGO Patches, but you could use other patch shapes. Make sure the laces are out so you can see what you're doing. Either mark with a pen or just eyeball where the patch needs to go and then press it on, making sure there are no creases on that vertical surface. 2:42 - WRAPPING UP So the 2-patch technique is the best way to deal with edge blisters because: 1. You're better-able to patch a curved area of the shoe 2. It's your best chance of avoiding creases 3. You can take the insole or orthotic out whenever you need to 4. The patch will stay stuck instead of coming loose prematurely Image credits www.ramblings-sue.blogspot.com.au www.saharamarathon2013.blogspot.com.au www.womensfoothealth.blogspot.com.au www.outsidetimes.com www.flickr.com/photos/fizzedi/7573531836 www.istock.com If you get edge blisters and want to buy ENGO large oval patches like the ones shown in this video: 👉 ENGO 4-PACK: https://www.blister-prevention.com/pr... 👉 LEARN MORE ABOUT ENGO PATCHES: https://www.blister-prevention.com/en...
