We get you a first and exclusive test drive of the all new Ford Figo The new Ford Figo is launched at a price tag of Rs 4.29 Lac for the base petrol trim and 5.29 Lac for the base diesel variant (Both are ex-showroom price, Delhi). Based on the Aspire’s platform, this all new Figo completely resembles it. Exteriors: Looking at the front, it has a trapezoidal grille with a horizontal chrome slats. The rear profile looks impressive with concave windscreen and a mounted spoiler. The rear fog lamps, follow me home headlamps, auto door lock, and driver airbag also come in the standard trim. This new Figo is available in 7 color options to choose from. Interiors: Inside the cabin, the top variant gets wing-shaped infotainment system same as Ecosport, Fiesta and Aspire. Music connectivity is available via USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth and it also comes with Ford Smart out the link and Voice commands for control. This all new Figo is a very spacious car as it comes with the best wheelbase of 2491 mm and ground clearance of 174 mm. It gets a boot space of 257 litres which is quite decent. Figo is spacious and feature-rich hatchback car. It also offers driver airbag as standard and 6 airbags in top end trim with ABS and EBD in automatic variant. Along with all these features, it also houses hill Assist, traction control and electronic stability program features. Engine and Performance: Figo is offered with 3 engine options similar to the Aspire, that is 1.2-litre & 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol mated with 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol motor delivers 88 PS of power with 112 Nm torque and ARAI certified fuel economy of this motor is 18.16 kmpl. The diesel motor pumps out 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque which is the most powerful engine in its segment and the most fuel efficient as well. The ARAI fuel economy for 1.5-litre diesel engine is 25.83 kmpl and for automatic transmission it has an average of 17 kmpl. The performance of the engine is remarkably and very impressive, also the turbo lag is almost negligible. The gear shifting is pretty well and the suspension setup is comfortable too. This new Figo takes bumps and broken roads with an ease. The clutch is light and refinement is good as well. Verdict: Figo is quite impressive and this new 2015 Figo will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 & Tata Bolt and it will create a history again.
