The Verzasca and the Valle Verzasca what means Verzasca Valley - the most beautiful and best known wild river in Switzerland not only since the filming of James Bond - Goldeneye where a bungee jump from the dam was filmed. Further up is also the famous Ponte dei Salti in Lavertezzo, colloquially known as the Roman Bridge, although this is misleading as the bridge was not built by the Romans but was created in the 17th century. The Verzasca has eaten itself over a long time deeper and deeper into the granite rock which leads to a unique photo scenery, this also explains why especially the area around the dam and around the Ponte dei Salti are completely overrun by tourists. If you ever want to go there then go during the week and relatively early in the morning. Most of the pictures were taken in Posse - it is much quieter there. Even if the pictures don't show it - it was high water, before and after the pictures our camping site at the Maggia was flooded and at the Lago Maggiore the camping Tenero was completely flooded and had to be evacuated partially. So clear water can be deceiving, the same day in the river in the next valley, the Maggia, 2 people died while bathing. Thank you for watching my video. I would be happy about a comment or like.
