We did it. Three of us. me, my wife, and our best mate Andux. Packed up and headed to Amed, Bali to complete our Molchanovs Wave 2 advanced freediving course with the legends at Apneista. This is that trip. This is also our first ever vlog. We've been watching YouTube for years and finally decided to start contributing. We're doing this for the memories more than anything else. THE COURSE What's Actually Involved If you're researching the Molchanovs Wave 2 course, here's what to expect: FIM & CWT (Constant Weight Bi-Fins) — minimum 24m depth line dive DNF (Dynamic No Fins) — 35m DYN (Dynamic With Fins) — 50m STA (Static Breath Hold) — 2 mins 30 seconds No Fins depth — 15m Rescue — 15m Our instructor at Apneista was genuinely next level. Patient, knowledgeable, and knew when to push us, and when to pull us back in exactly the right ways. Can't recommend them enough. NOTE None of these recommendations were paid for we just do this for fun. WHERE TO STAY & EAT IN AMED If we were doing this again, we'd stay at Blue Earth Village. It's right next to the school, has its own gym and café, the food is great, and the whole vibe just makes sense for a course like this. Our villa was lovely but Blue Earth would've been the smarter call — noting it here so you don't make the same choice we did. For food, two spots stood out: OM Karma Café — our absolute favourite. Go here. Repeatedly. Good Stuff Café — does exactly what the name says.
