ATCO operates and maintains approximately 9,000km of high-pressure natural gas transmission lines and approximately 55,000km of low-pressure natural gas distribution lines across the province of Alberta. Managing the safe operation of this large portfolio of utility assets requires a comprehensive and coordinated integrity management plan. In this webinar, you’ll see an overview of what ATCO does to execute its integrity management plan, with a focus on steel pipelines. You’ll see how integrity management considerations are integrated into all phases of the pipeline life cycle from design, through construction and operation, to decommissioning to ensure that ATCO’s assets remain economical, reliable, and safe. Brendan Eirich P.Eng. Senior Engineer, Pipeline Integrity Projects Brendan Eirich is a Senior Engineer on ATCO’s Pipeline Integrity Projects team. He spent the first two thirds of his 11-year career managing integrity projects of varying scope and complexity including in-line inspection and integrity digs on ATCO’s gas transmission system. He used what he learned from his training and project work to build up an extensive technical knowledge of integrity management practice. Brendan moved into a senior technical role and is now responsible for providing support to integrity project managers, developing department program and technical standards and mentoring the next generation of pipeline integrity engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta.
