Day Odyssey Series: Ride to Jim Thorpe PA (April 7 2013)

Join us for a very intruiging drive from Baltimore MD to Jim Thorpe PA! We pass many points of interest along the way, such as Conowingo Dam and the PA towns of Lancaster, Reading, Sinking Spring (watch and find out what this locality has in common with Elkridge MD-the answer may surprise you!!), Kutztown, Allentown, Slatington and many more! Our routes include US 1, US 222, PA 309 and US 209. Upon arrival in the town of Jim Thorpe (formerly Mauch Chunk; something you'd know if you watched my last Jim Thorpe vid) we look around the classic train station and railroad yard! We also get a distant runby of a NSRR train at Sinking Spring (it's the thumbnail)! We also cross some Erie Lacawanna trackage (now NS, of course). My apologies for the camera shake (my hi-def lacks steady shot) and couple dust spots inside the lens I can't remove-but ride with us and check it out! This is a really interesting route! Our return route is US 209, I-81 and I-83. We always return over a different (and faster) route for variety. NO backtracking!! THere will be more Day Odyssey Series vids-as I shoot them.
