Hey guys, welcome back to udcyd In this video, we'll give you an introduction to international shipping and what cif is. We'll also discuss the benefits of using cif and some of the different types of shipping it can apply to. #incoterms #internationalshipping #cif CIF basically stands for Cost, Insurance, and Freight. What you need to know, CIF is useful when 1. You know nothing about international shipping and you want to get your goods safely from point A to point B. 2. CIF can be used for low-value goods, as well as smaller shipments. In some cases, you may use CIF but make sure you cover your insurance cost well, and it fits in your budget. Remember the biggest risk occurs when the goods board the export vessel. So as a precaution make sure your supplier packages your goods appropriately to avoid damage. You may also speak with your supplier about the cost of insurance they have purchased for your goods depending on which category they fall into, whether they are low-value or high-value goods. You may use CIF when you have less than a container load of goods (LCL) as well. For example, if you are exporting some clothes via Sea Freight. Any questions feel free to post them in the comments section of this video and I will be sure to get to them when I can. Thank you for listening.
