Evening Trains at Portsmouth & Southsea, PDL - 24th July 2024

Hello and welcome to all those who subscribe and who has visted my channel to view my latest video. On Wednesday 24th July 2024, I headed down to my other local station Portsmouth & Southsea, which is situated on Portsmouth Direct Line. I really love this station, with Harbour is one of the bestest Terminus stations. What I love about it is that station hasn’t changed much over the past decades, well expect maybe the concourse down stairs had a bit of revamp. You have the main building outside which still has bit of historic look, with a little clock on the top. And you also have the old 1980s BR canopy, which always gives me the nostalgia feel to the old BR days, even in my childhood days. Views on both side of the station is great, with line looking towards Fratton with a footbridge in the centre, and even towards Harbour, with the lipstick Tower in view, and also that line which curved and it’s quite awesome when trains coming on approach from the direction. Also downstairs is really good, even if you are next to that Lamport Viaduct seeing trains going up when arriving and going down when departing. Facilities are good but it really does need Coffee shop and Newsagents, what doesn’t help is there is abanded old Coffee Shop downstairs near the barrier which doesn’t give it a good look. Even when City Centre outside is already in such bad and dirty state as it is. What I really love the most about this station is standing inside the canopy, hearing trains coming in and out making that thundering rattling sound always gives me goosebumps. On the day of filming, I came at bit of a bad time, as there were problems on Salisbury line due to Track Defect and somewhere on Southern line there was ether signal problems or trespass. So you will mostly see is SWR Desiros, some Southerns, and little few GWR Turbos that is only going to Romsey. If you like what have seen please give my videos a like, and subscribe if you so wish.
