MNPR caught up with Matt Hudson and Sam Lay from UK rock band Revenant on the final day of their support slot with US southern-rockers Preacher Stone for an in-depth rig rundown! Sam is running a PRS Custom 24 SE (2026 model) alongside a Telecaster, strung with Roto Sound 9-46s, while Matt's weapon of choice is a wine red Gibson Explorer loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups and a push-pull mod for added versatility — strung with Roto Sound 10-52s. Matt also pulls out a Flying V for the band's drop D material later in the set. On the amp front, the boys are endorsed by Victory Amplification - Sam runs a Victory Jack and Matt a Victory Kraken — both used via a four-cable method with their Neural DSP Quad Cortex units for effects processing. Inspired by Rabea Massaad's approach to the four-cable method, the QC handles all the effects while the Victories remain the foundation of their live tone. Both players also have amp captures loaded for fly dates when the real thing can't make the trip.
