Highline Quad Garaventa CTEC - CLF4 - 2004 (Used) Slope Length: 3000 Vertical Footage: 620 Design Capacity: Unknown Design Rope Speed: Unknown VTF/H: Unknown Ski Butternut’s Highline Quad was installed in 2004 by Doppelmayr CTEC. The lift was originally built by Garaventa CTEC in 1999 at Bretton Woods, NH, as the West Mountain Quad, which was replaced with a detachable quad in 2002. Highline’s predecessor of the same name was a 1968 Carlevaro & Savio double (the counterweight mast from that lift still stands uphill of the present-day unloading area). The new Highline provides an additional high-capacity lift to service the heart of Butternut, however all of its terrain can also be accessed from the Top Flight Quad via the “Pied Piper” or “Whip” trails. Highline features a Garaventa CTEC Enterprise drive/tension terminal and a Garaventa CTEC Orion fixed return terminal, both of which came from Bretton Woods. The CTEC chairs, CTEC grips, and crossarms likely also came from Bretton Woods. The tower tubes and 400mm CTEC sheaves may have been new on this installation. Recorded on January 12, 2021.
