We urge road users, especially drivers, to exercise caution on the roads, especially when carrying passengers." After the accident, it was reported that the truck's license had recently expired.[2] Subsequently, the driver Sanele Goodness May, a 23-year-old citizen from Swaziland was taken to court under multiple charges including homicide and reckless driving. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 8 years.
